Now, you can’t do a straight conversion on bikes like this and it be accurate to what it would actually sell for in the USA but for giggles – let’s do it anyways. If you convert 341,000 yen to USD then that would put you around $3,100. For example, the 2021 Honda CT125 has an MSRP of $3,899. Can you buy the 2021 Honda Cross Cub 110 in the USA? Sadly, nope. Does Honda plan to release the Cross Cub 110 in the USA for their 2022 motorcycle model lineup? Here’s Honda’s official description The CROSS CUB 110 pursues a leg shield-less active style with the “Cross Over Cub Styling” theme. The styling emphasizes a tougher, more leisure-oriented image, with an LED headlight and specially-designed headlight guard, steel front fender, front and rear black rims, and fatter tires with a deeper tread pattern. The handlebars have also been reshaped for a more upright riding posture that allows for better visibility, while the unique seat cushion is thicker for greater comfort over long distances. With bold crossover styling that looks as good in town as off-road, and the ability to accommodate two riders, the Cross Cub makes an exciting new addition to the Cub lineup. New for 2023, a full lineup of custom parts cater to many use cases, from bags to racks, mufflers, windshields, and even a floating brake rotor, these builds can serve as a template or inspiration for you. SP Takegawa also has parts for the Honda Dax 125, yet another bike that I don’t mind owning and treating like a toy for around-town commutes. The same treatment is given to the new Super Cubs and the Cross Cubs from team red. Gallery SP Takegawa Honda Super Cub 110 The pair of 110s get a set of parts. Some are universal, but others are form fitted to specific bikes. SP Takegawa did a custom build for each bike, and the first up is the Super Cub 110 with its touring bag strapped onto the handlebars and even comes with a clear window for your phone. Under that is a rack that bolts on near the footwells. On top of being a tiny luggage rack, it also adds a bit of protection by preventing scratches from ingress and egress. Finally, the Cub gets a P-Shooter muffler, finished in chrome, and slips on to replace the stock system. Gallery SP Takegawa Honda Cross Cub 110 Next up is the Cross Cub, which is a little more rugged than its city-going counterpart. With a little more emphasis on trailing, the light bike gets touring amenities that are sure to enhance the bike’s long-ride chops. The Cross Cub gets a windscreen as well as a windshield for the rider’s lower extremities. Hand guards were also fitted, in a bid to fully cover the rider on colder rides out. There is even a special seat for this model, a cushioned seat cover that’s said to enhance rider comfort on the saddle. Last but not least, a muffler did in a scrambler style with two silencers that add to the adventurous look of the Cross Cub 110. The pair of bikes are both interesting and fun in concept. Mar 20, 2019 at 749pm ET 2 min read Sometimes you want to go somewhere on your motorcycle but you have to carry stuff that’s large or awkward. Sometimes that means you make provisions like specific luggage or extra tie downs, and sometimes it means a full custom rebuild. Of a Honda Cub. CUSTOM INSPIRATION This one-off custom build comes from the brains of a moto-journalist who is also a dedicated fisherman and, apparently erstwhile adventurer. He chose the Japanese-market-only Cross Cub, a spinoff of the Super Cub that is slightly more ruggedized less bodywork, knobbier tires. This one, though, gets extra off-road treatment in the repositioning of its exhaust from running under the bike to a scrambler style high pipe. This leaves the underside free of encumbrances so that the builder was able to fit a good bash plate, mounted on a crash bar that doubles as a frame member. This bike has a front rack with headlight protection, as well as rear and mid luggage racks. Remember it’s a step-through so that middle bit of frame can also be used for extra luggage. While some of this is totally custom, many parts of it are available for purchase on the Japanese market, making this a do-it-yourselfer’s dream. You can just bolt parts onto your own Cross Cub, if you live in Japan, and take this thing fishing and camping too! It’s light enough that it’s probably a real hoot on dirt roads. This cross-cub has a 110cc motor, but if you live in the US and you are dedicated, you can buy yourself a 2019, 125cc Super Cub and use this build as inspiration for your own. This machine was on display at the Japan Fishing show in January, where it drew attention for being simultaneously useful and adorable. It will be on display again at the Tokyo Motor Show on March 22-24, 2019. “Outdoor enjoyment specification is completed!” Hopefully the Super Cub will sell well enough here in the states to draw a following and inspire customization projects like this one.
